Go to: Settings > Recording and click off the Local and Cloud recording features. Please note that most, if not all, of the settings below are not the Zoom default: Continental European Region Alcoholics Anonymous is the English language Region serving Alcoholics Anonymous Intergroups and unaffiliated Groups in. Here are some suggested settings for your meeting to use. There are other settings in the Meeting subtab that can also be adjusted, such as disallowing remote control of devices, file transfer, data sharing with Zoom, and screen sharing. Turning that feature off is simple, fortunately. Additionally, by default all Zoom meetings are recorded to the cloud. The meetings are publicly accessible and full names and faces are often displayed. The default Zoom settings run counter to AA’s spiritual foundation of anonymity. These have been curated from the membership and online resources. Now that online meetings are accessible, we want to pass on best practices for protecting anonymity. Membership is not required to list your online AA group in the Meeting Directory. He or she may participate in the discussions of the Assembly but may not offer motions or vote. Nonvoting members include any AA member who wishes to join the Intergroup. Groups also are encouraged to select alternate IGRs to act in the IGR’s absence. It is suggested that IGRs have at least one year of continuous sobriety and that they be active members of their groups.
Each registered online AA group participating as a member should select an Intergroup Representative (IGR) to exercise its membership. Voting members include each registered online AA group and the current Intergroup officers. There are two classes of membership: voting and nonvoting.
The Intergroup is self-supporting through voluntary contributions of its members. There are no dues or fees for membership. Membership in the Online Intergroup is open to all online AA groups and all AA members. If you would like to join the Online Intergroup, write to us.
